Now, imagine time running out and options getting limited with each passing day. This is what children in government schools face.
Our programs build confidence in children through carefully designed methodology that enhances their reading, writing, comprehension, and speaking skills as they learn each new concept. While the children get acclimatised and move on to excel at each skill level, the government school teachers also build up their capacity in English as they teach. This stress-free, encouraging environment with ample challenges thrown along the course of the programs helps all types of learners – students and teachers alike. These children are definitely positioned at a better chance at life.
SatH-DO Program

- An average 109% increase in overall scores was observed in students who did the base-line tests and end-line tests, with an increase in reading by 135% and vocabulary by 88%
- Breakthrough impact was seen in Grade 3 students who improved by 248%, grade 4 by 151%, grade 5 by 100%. The average end-line score of all grades was 9 on 10.

REAP and PEP
Before the start of the program, 84% of the children were at the small letter level or below and only 5% of the children could read small sentences
After the program, 85% of the children could read words, 68% could read small sentences, half the children could read paragraphs, and about 30% could read small stories
Success Stories
Rahul is a grade 6 student in a government upper-primary school in Chennapatna. His father wanted to pull him out of school because he only got into trouble at school and was not learning anything. His father felt that Rahul’s time would be better utilized in helping with chores around the house that would free up other family members to earn for the family. Rahul sat through less than 70 hours of REAP in 2018-19, and that experience transformed him and his family. He has
now discovered a love of learning that transcends beyond English and he has become a very conscientious student.
His father’s outlook on education has completely changed and he has pledged to support Rahul in every way so he can stay in school and learn. The future certainly looks better for Rahul.
Lakshmi was a student in GKLPS Bhoganahalli. Lakshmi is the eldest of 4 sisters. When Lakshmi got into the PEP in 2015, she was in grade 4, and could not speak a word of English. She was taught by an extremely self-motivated group of volunteers, who were consistent and followed the methodologies prescribed by PEP. Despite being pulled out of lessons very frequently to care for her sisters, Lakshmi is still on track with her school work and is extremely confident in English. Her dream job is to become a scientist. She draws her inspiration from the several volunteers who she interacted with over the 2 years. Her transformation into a life-long learner is complete.
GKLPS Kadubisanahalli was on the verge of closing down with only 30 students in 2014. Teachers were getting transferred out of the school and the HM was trying hard to hold everything together. Cisco took PEP to this tiny school in 2014 to a classroom of just 12 students from 4th– and 5th-grade. The HM, SDMC saw the potential of the PEP and the commitment of the volunteers. In 2015, the enrolment of the school doubled as the news of academic progress spread around the neighborhood. The school is now a thriving, lower-primary school with 25+ children in each grade. Cisco continues to drive the PEP in this school.
